Nature Nuts
Children learn by listening, seeing and doing, so TreeHouse has developed a new, fun and
exciting program for Pre-K kids, ages 3 through 5, held on the third Tuesday of each month.
Each Nature Nuts session includes a fun wildlife/nature activity, a short, but exciting nature hike;
a craft for little hands and minds and a nutritious snack.
All child participants must be accompanied by an adult and be registered, in advance, for either
of the two sessions on a given date.
All Nature Nuts programs are held on location at TreeHouse every month.
Morning sessions are from 9:30 am to 11:00 am.
Afternoon sessions are from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm.
February 21, 2012 "Four Seasons"
Can you name all four seasons? We will be creating a season's tree by using our
sense of sight, smell, sound, touch and taste. The we'll have a snack while listening to
a story as we stay cool indoors.
March 20, 2012 "Spring Has Sprung"
Today is the first day of Spring, so let's celebrate and search for signs of our
changing surroundings! We will go on the hunt for insects: then, create caterpillars
and butterflies while enjoying a story and a "creepy crawly" snack.
April 17, 2012 "How Does Your Garden Grow?"
Celebrating the Earth should happen ever day, so let's plant some roots and watch
them grow! We will be decorating a flower pot and planting seeds...and even eating a
little 'dirt'.
May 15, 2012 "The Un-Nature Trail"
Does this belong here? We will be going on a hike and will see if you can pick out
the hidden treasures as we take a closer look at our natural surroundings followed by
a story and snack.
