Marcel is a North American Opossum who was
brought to TreeHouse by a passerby who found
him on the side of the road. He had probably been
hit by a car, although we'll never know for sure.
Opossums are the only marsupials in North
America. Marsupials are animals who carry their
young in a pouch... like a kangaroo!
While many people find them scary, we think they
are cute as a button. You ought to see them climb
when they are babies! Their little feet look just like
hands and they are absolutely adorable!
